{"id":104,"date":"2017-03-31T09:06:27","date_gmt":"2017-03-31T09:06:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/iainhamilton.co.uk\/?p=104"},"modified":"2020-03-06T12:16:20","modified_gmt":"2020-03-06T12:16:20","slug":"quorn-bolognese-with-spaghetti","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/iainhamilton.co.uk\/?p=104","title":{"rendered":"Quorn Bolognese with Spaghetti"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ingredients (serves 4) :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>400 gms of Quorn Mince<\/li>\n<li>1 x 400 gm tin of chopped tomatoes<\/li>\n<li>150ml of Beef or alternatively use\u00a0around a half a tablespoon of Marmite\/Vegemite with 150ml of Hot Water\u00a0as a vegetarian alternative<\/li>\n<li>300ml of Red Wine<\/li>\n<li>2 tbl spoon olive oil<\/li>\n<li>2 Tablespoons of Tomato Pur\u00e9e<\/li>\n<li>1 large chopped onion<\/li>\n<li>300g of sliced chestnut mushrooms.<\/li>\n<li>2 cloves of garlic<\/li>\n<li>A few dashes of Worcester Sauce \/ if vegetarian don&#8217;t use as it has Anchovies in it.<\/li>\n<li>1 teaspoon of dried basil, half a teaspoon of dried oregano<\/li>\n<li>teaspoon of granulated sugar<\/li>\n<li>large pinch of salt<\/li>\n<li>dash of ground black pepper<\/li>\n<li>320 gm Spaghetti\/Pasta (don&#8217;t use quick cook unless you hate the people eating it)<\/li>\n<li>40 gm finely grated Parmesan (Parmigiano Reggiano) cheese or Vegetarian Italian Hard Cheese alternative (Note for Zoe, Genuine Parmesan is never Vegetarian)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Method :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Heat a large heavy based Frying pan to a medium heat and add olive oil<\/li>\n<li>Throw in your chopped onion, garlic and fry gently until the onions are translucent.<\/li>\n<li>Add the Quorn and heat for around 5 &#8211; 10 minutes until cooked.<\/li>\n<li>Add the Mushrooms and cook for around a minute.<\/li>\n<li>Add the\u00a0tomato pur\u00e9e and stir for around 2 &#8211; 3 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Bring a large pan of water to the boil and add a large pinch of salt to the water once boiling.<\/li>\n<li>Add the Red Wine and bring to simmer and reduce for 3 &#8211; 4 minutes<\/li>\n<li>Add half the stock, stir and simmer for a few minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Add the tinned tomatoes and stir.<\/li>\n<li>Add the sugar, salt, a couple of twists of black pepper, herbs and stir well.<\/li>\n<li>Add the remaining stock and Worcester Sauce (if using) and bring to a simmer.<\/li>\n<li>let it simmer for about for 12 minutes stirring regularly to ensure it doesn&#8217;t catch.<\/li>\n<li>Add your pasta\/spaghetti to the pan of boiling salted water and cook for 9-10 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Once pasta\/spaghetti is cooked, drain and stir into it, 1 tablespoon of olive oil and your grated Cheese\u00a0and stir.<\/li>\n<li>Serve your now ready bolognese over the now cooked and seasoned pasta.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ingredients (serves 4) : 400 gms of Quorn Mince 1 x 400 gm tin of chopped tomatoes 150ml of Beef or alternatively use\u00a0around a half a tablespoon of Marmite\/Vegemite with 150ml of Hot Water\u00a0as a vegetarian alternative 300ml of Red Wine 2 tbl spoon olive oil 2 Tablespoons of Tomato Pur\u00e9e 1 large chopped onion\u2026 <span class=\"read-more\"><a href=\"https:\/\/iainhamilton.co.uk\/?p=104\">Read More &raquo;<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":1,"featured_media":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"open","sticky":false,"template":"","format":"standard","meta":{"footnotes":""},"categories":[2],"tags":[],"class_list":["post-104","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-general"],"_links":{"self":[{"href":"https:\/\/iainhamilton.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/104","targetHints":{"allow":["GET"]}}],"collection":[{"href":"https:\/\/iainhamilton.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts"}],"about":[{"href":"https:\/\/iainhamilton.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/types\/post"}],"author":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/iainhamilton.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/users\/1"}],"replies":[{"embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/iainhamilton.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcomments&post=104"}],"version-history":[{"count":5,"href":"https:\/\/iainhamilton.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/104\/revisions"}],"predecessor-version":[{"id":110,"href":"https:\/\/iainhamilton.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=\/wp\/v2\/posts\/104\/revisions\/110"}],"wp:attachment":[{"href":"https:\/\/iainhamilton.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fmedia&parent=104"}],"wp:term":[{"taxonomy":"category","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/iainhamilton.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Fcategories&post=104"},{"taxonomy":"post_tag","embeddable":true,"href":"https:\/\/iainhamilton.co.uk\/index.php?rest_route=%2Fwp%2Fv2%2Ftags&post=104"}],"curies":[{"name":"wp","href":"https:\/\/api.w.org\/{rel}","templated":true}]}}
